Flip Train:
Overview Advantages Practical Application Drill Progression Construction & Design Care & Storage

Care & Storage

FlipTrain is constructed of materials that will hold up for many years in a swimming pool environment. Thermoplastic polyethelene foam, UV protected break-resistant PVC, and ABS plastic are used to make a wide range of popular and long lasting water products. Providing your FlipTrain Station is used for it's intended purpose and cared for properly, it will provide many years of service to coaches and their swimmers. Below is a list of Do's and Don'ts to ensure your product stays as nice as the day you bought it

DO's and DON'Ts

DO purchase a FlipTrain Deck Rack if at all possible or build something for storage when not in use. This is probably the single greatest thing you can do to protect the life of your FlipTrain Station. The FlipTrain Deck Rack is made of UV protected and break resistant PVC with internal fittings. If you don't have a rack, FlipTrain can be "nested" as shown below and stored on a shelf as little as 2 ft. deep with a height clearance of about 20 inches.

DO pick up and carry FlipTrain by grasping the sweep just under the float. This is where you will find the most balance and control of the product in your hand. This is also a point of significant structural strength.

You can also carry FlipTrain over your shoulder very easily wth the float in back and the hand platform in front of you. If you have to walk any distance with them, I like one over my shoulder and the other in my hand when carrying both at the same time. One side of a FlipTrain Station only weighs 5 lbs.

DO place FlipTrain into the pool by pushing the handplatform into the water and allowing it to flood prior to letting it go. This will take about 3 seconds.

DON'T pick up or carry FlipTrain by the tailpipes. Not only is the product out of balance in your hand when doing this, but structurally it is better to avoid putting lateral stress on the tailpipes. The tailpipes are designed to slide under the lane lines and provide stability and insure correct positioning of the product when in use. They are not designed for lifting or carrying the product.

DON'T ever toss or throw the product into the water.  Push the product into the water as pictured left.

DON'T let kids get on top of the product in any way while in or out of the water. Don't let kids sit on the hand platforms or get on top of the floats. Although your young upstart flippers will have a great deal of fun practicing with FlipTrain, they should understand that it is an important training device and NOT a water toy.

DON'T store or leave in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time, rather store the product inside if possible or in the shade if used at an outdoor pool. Like any other foam product, whether a kickboard or a body board, FlipTrain's floats will live a much longer life if consistently kept away from prolonged direct sunlight or intense heat when not in use. It is suggested that you cover the product, if keeping it indoors is not an option or no shade is available.

DO supervise use of this product until all swimmers and other coaches understand this list of do's and don'ts.
