Dryland, LLC (dba FlipTrain), is an independently owned company located in Sandy, Utah. It's owner, Dave Ryland, is a retired USS coach who has written and been issued 2 U.S. patents over the past 5 years for methods and apparatus related to teaching and training the competitive swimmer. "Apparatus and Method for Developing a Proper Swimming Whip Kick and Training the Competitive Breaststroker" and "Systems and Methods for Developing the Correct Mechanics of a Swimming Flip Turn". His work has resulted in two of the most innovative and unique teaching/training devices taken to market probably since the Zoomer Training Fin in 1991.

His first patent (Developing a Proper Swimming Whip Kick . . .), resulted in an exclusive licensing agreement with the Warnaco Corp., wherein Speedo has been given the rights to manufacture and market a completely unique teaching and training breaststroke fin where none has existed before. The product was released in the fall of 2005 and can currently be purchased at Swim Shops throughout North America.

With his second patent, Ryland brings to market the FlipTrain Station. Introduced at the ACSA World Clinic and Expo in Ft. Lauderdale (Sept. '05), after two and a half years in product development . . . the half dozen production prototypes taken as demo's were sold before noon on the first day of the show.   Ryland flew back to Salt Lake City, completed his first production run and began fulfilling on-line orders by November. Through 2006, as the product gained exposure and momentum, testimonials from some of the most noted programs and coaches in the country validated the initial response a year earlier.
